Rune has just achieved a career-best ranking on the ATP singles list, just after playing in the final of the Masters 1000 tournament in Rome, where he defeated, among others, Novak Djokovic and Casper Ruud. A little earlier in 2023, Rune also played in the final of the tournament in Monte Carlo, and a little later he won the title in Munich
