This year, Croatia Open Umag will take place between 14th and 23rd July. Preparations are well underway, and a big bit of news ahead of the 28th edition of the tournament is definitely the sponsorship contract with Triglav osiguranje d.d.. For the first time the company is going to be a member of the great sponsor family for this tournament. The new partnership was the cause for today's press meet, attended by Marin Matijaca, president of the Management Board of Triglav osiguranje d.d. and Ronald Korotaj, CEO of Istraturist and the president of the tournament's organization committee. The tournament also has support from its great friend Goran Ivanišević.

"Croatia Open Umag has worked diligently for 27 years on making tennis more popular, and promoting Umag and Croatia as a popular tourist destination. This dedication to tradition is what ties the tournament and Triglav together. Triglav has nurtured a long tradition of supporting sports and a healthy lifestyle, and this year we are celebrating our 50th anniversary of business on the Croatian market. Triglav's business tradition is even longer, reaching back 115 years. Since the tournament is known not only for sports, but for being an ideal summer destination for top-grade entertainment and socialization, we have decided to make our contribution. For the visitors, we are planning fun and interactive activities in the ATP zone," said Marin Matijaca, president of the Management Board of Triglav osiguranje d.d., part of Triglav group, one of the biggest finance-insurance groups in Southeast Europe.

Partnership with Triglav osiguranje d.d. is just one of the news for this year's tournament edition. This was confirmed by Ronald Korotaj, CEO of Istraturist and the president of the Umag ATP organization committee. "We are heading toward another tournament for the ages, this year's investment in the 10-day program is one of the biggest in our ATP event history, so I'm sure this year's edition will excite the 100,000 visitors that faithfully keep coming back to Umag. I am extremely proud of the continued investment into the infrastructure of the ATP Goran Ivanišević court, since a total of 5 million kunas will have been invested into the stadium after two years. I'd like to thank all the members of our sponsor family, especially Triglav, which is joining us for the first time this year. I am looking forward to the partnership ahead of us and I believe that, in three years' time, we will celebrate our grand jubilee together, the 30 years of Croatia Opena Umag continuity."

The connection between Umag and Goran is well known to the public. Their intensive cooperation continues into this year. As a finalist of the first edition of Umag's tournament, Goran is proud of the fact that in the current 27 editions of Croatia Open, the cup was taken by five Grand Slam champions, four players who held the world's first position and six Davis Cup champions. Goran belongs to the populous gallery of Grand Slam champions who played at Umag, but never got to the end. He is accompanied by Novak Đoković and Rafael Nadal, among others.

"Everyone knows how strong a connection I have with Umag, so this year I will make my contribution to its organization once again. Last year's tournament edition exceeded all my expectations. For the opening we brought Agassi to Umag. It would be an understatement to say it was my childhood dream come true, and we closed the tournament with Fabio Fognini's win. I think this win is enough reason for Fabio to come back to Umag again, and I believe our Borna won't miss this year's Umag either," said Goran Ivanišević, Croatiantennis legend and a great friend of the tournament, after whom the stadium got its name last year - the ATP Goran Ivanišević stadium.
