Today at ATP Vegeta Croatia Open a newly founded association Wines of Bujština has been introduced. It is a wine makers association with a total of 24 members. The Northwester Istria is a very rich an concentrated wine, as well as olive growing area, which is why the association Wines of Bujština has been founded. The association announced the start of promotional activities like production of tour guides to wines from Buje, as well as additional wine road labeling in the area of northwestern Istria. Umag's tournament, due to it's extremely important gourmet program, an ideal spot to introduce the association to the public.

The association's goal is the promotion of locations and uniqueness of the landscape, which allows the production of unique wines, as well as the promotion of authentic wine sorts, wine makers themselves and the wine tourism in general. As a part of the cluster containing the tourist communities of Umag, Novigrad, Brtonigla and Buje, the association Wines of Bujština will actively work on the promotion of northwestern Istria as a eno-gastronomic destination and be the key wine partner to local branches of the Croatian tourist organization.

The association gathers numerous highly important Croatian wine makers such as the pioneers of Istrian wine making and those most deserving for the development of Istrian wine making like Gianfranco Kozlović, Moreno Degrassi, Moreno Coronica, Bruno Ravalico and Marino Markežić Kabola. Moreno Degrassi described the efforts that the wine makers from northwestern Istria invested into the development and promotion of authentic sorts and wine offers, thus concluding that the wines of northwester Istria are know across Europe, which is the basis for quality development of the association as well qualitative and quantitative development of the very wine cellars in existence.

Danijel Kraljević Cuj stressed the importance of the association for the young wine makers because their older colleagues can instruct them how to avoid traps and unexpected problems in sales and wine placement, which is where the association will help them as well. "Wines of Bujština gathers a large number of the most potent wine makers of Istria, which predicts that the association will have a growing importance in the future," concluded Kraljević.
