In the hotel Meliá Coral yesterday the workshop "About Istrian grappa" was held by the renowned Italian sommelier Giuseppe Vaccarini, who is also one of the best sommeliers in the world. The workshop was attended, among others, by members of the Croatian Sommelier Club and the most famous Istrian winemakers who at this opportunity had the chance to hear the opinion of a world authority on the topic Istrian grappa. The tasting was divided into two parts. The first part was dedicated to the history of grappa and its global distribution, while the other part was reserved for the tasting. All gathered had the opportunity to taste six different grappa of the known Istrian grappa producers, the family Rossi from Vižinada, grappa made of Malvasia and Muscat, Herba luiga, biska, honey grappa and grappa made from herbs.

Giuseppe Vaccarini is a sommelier with an enviable world career. The former president of the world and Italian Sommelier Association and the Trophée Ruinarta for the best sommelier in Europe, after his successful presidential mandate in the mentioned associations, is now actively participating in their work and is presiding juries of various national and international competitions. In almost 45 years he is professionally engaged with tastings and the evaluation of wine, he has held numerous workshops and masterclasses around the world, and his knowledge he is sharing with likeminded people in the form of numerous books translated into several languages.
