Yesterday, Nikola Mektić and Antonio Šančić saved the Croatians' face by securing a slot in the doubles finals as the fourth seeds. The Croatian duo have been playing excellent tennis from the very start and yesterday they defeated the second seeds Nicholas Monroe and Artem Sitak 7:5 6:2.
In today's finals, they will face a duo that won Umag's tournament in 2013, Martin Kližan and David Marrero. The latter two defeated the Croatian-Italian combination, Franko Škugor and Thomas Fabbiano, with an easy 6:4 6:1. Kližan will thus try to get some revenge for losing in the singles eighth-finals; however, the Croatian duo will try to mess with his plans and win the title on their home court.
