Once again, sommelier Emil Perdec participated in this wine tasting event titled Skrivene čari istarskih vina (Hidden Charms of the Istrian Wines). He taught the guests about coupages, telling them how they should taste and smell, and which foods they are best paired with, and revealing many other interesting secrets of his trade that laymen could use to enjoy the many charms of different wines. Today’s wine tasting event will, as usual, take place in the Gourmet Zone, starting at 9 PM. The guests will be able to taste the best fresh terans made by the Zigante, Geržinić and Kozlović wineries.
The third wine that has joined Franković Winery’s fresh malvasia and Istra Vina’s aged malvasia in the final round of the 2017 ATP Wine contest is the black Grimalda from Matošević winery, harvest 2015. At this year’s third wine tasting event, Benvenuti, Degrassi and Matošević wineries showcased their 2011 and 2015 vintage cuvees.
Not knowing which cuvee they were actually tasting, the guests agreed that Matošević's Grimalda was the best, awarding it with the highest number of points. That way, the cuvee in question automatically went through to the final, which will be held this Sunday, the last day of the tournament.
