The jubilee 25. Vegeta Croatia Open Umag has come to an
end and will certainly be remembered as one of the most exciting
ones. The tournament was full of surprises, the main one
being Pablo Cuevas from Uruguay who fought his way from the
qualifiers all the way to the finals, and defeated Tommy Robredo,
claiming his second ATP title in a row. The most pleasant surprise
was the young Borna Ćorić, who fought his way to the quarterfinals
and gained the praise of the crowd with his masterful moves.
Along with the matches played by current tennis stars, the
tournament audience had the opportunity to witness an exhibition
match of former tennis champions. The doubles match with Ivanišević
and Bahrami on one side, and Muster and Leconte on the other, had
the audience bursting with laughter but it also showed off the
skills that made these players worthy to be called tennis
legends.
There was no lack of entertainment either, as the numerous
musicians and DJ-s made sure that the party didn't stop until the
early morning hours at the ATP Lounge and ATP Dance Arena. Stars
like Hladno pivo, Vanillaz and Luka Nižetić are
only few of the names responsible for maintaining the party
atmosphere, while the biggest event was the Summer Sensation Party
which featured musicians, acrobats and attractive dancers from
Ibiza, who kept the crowd going for hours.
