The winner of the wine tastings "Hidden charms of Istrian wines" and the ATP wine of 2014 is young malvazija by Franco Cattunar from Brtonigla.
The winner's trophy was handed to Cattunar on the last day of 25. Vegeta Croatia Open by the tournament sponsor, President of the Republic of Croatia Ivo Josipović.

Cattunar's young malvazija won on the second day of tastings, on Tuesday, and it became the ultimate winner by getting the most votes from tastings participants, 72 percent. The president of the Croatian Sommelier club Franko Lukež stated that during the six days 180 Istrian wine fans attended the tastings. Upon handing the award, President Josipović said that all he knows about wine he learned in Umag and Istria. "Wine making is a very important aspect of the tourist offer, and good wine isn't easy to make. I hope that the already excellent Istrian wines will be even better next year", said President Josipović.
