These winemakers will also offer gin and brandy. The recognisable scent of truffles will spread from the Zigante Tartufi (Zigante Truffle Products) spot that will offer truffle-based dishes, and Aura will add to this great offer with its selection of gin and brandies.

Visitors wishing to learn more about Istrian wine varieties will be able to book wine tastings at the event called “Hidden Charms of Istrian Wines”, where specificities and diversity of indigenous wine varieties will be presented in a beautiful and relaxed environment. Every evening from Sunday, 21st July until Friday, 26th July at 9 p.m., the selected Istrian winemakers, led by Lucija Matijević, a well-known sommelier from the Croatian Sommelier Club, will present their wines to visitors who will discover many curiosities about Istrian wines through wine tastings and discussions with fellow enthusiasts and wine experts. The first evening will be dedicated to young Malvasia varieties, the second evening to aged Teran varietals, and the third evening will be dedicated to sparkling wines obtained by traditional methods. Wednesday will be reserved for Sauvignon Blanc, while lovers of aged Malvasia may enjoy this wine on Thursday.

“This year the Taste Istria Zone will continue to tell its beautiful story called the Hidden Charms of Istrian Wines, in cooperation between Plava Laguna and the Croatian Sommelier Club. Throughout these five days, visitors will be able to choose their favourite wines in five categories. Each year we have three major categories: fresh Istrian Malvasia, aged Istrian Malvasia and aged Teran. This year we will add the categories of sparkling wines obtained by traditional methods and Sauvignon Blanc. On Day Six, the winners of each day will enter the grand finals, where the visitors will choose the best wine of this year’s ATP. Thanks to these educational wine tastings led by renowned sommeliers, the visitors will certainly learn something new about wines and find out some characteristics of different vintages”, said Emil Perdec, Plava Laguna sommelier and a regional representative of the Croatian Sommelier Club for Istria.
